The National Olympic Training Center Helsinki is a part of Metropolitan Sports Academy Urhea. The heart of Urhea is located on the Urhea Campus, which is also home to Urhea-halli sports hall, Urhea-koti residential building, Mäkelänrinne Swimming Hall, Mäkelänrinne upper secondary school and Kumpulanlaakso and Käpylä football fields. Helsinki Velodrome is also located in the immediate vicinity of the Campus.

Sport Federations as Key Partners

The National Olympic Training Center Helsinki works closely with several national sport federations, including the Finnish Athletics Federation, Finnish Basketball Association, Finnish Gymnastics Federation, Finnish Swimming Federation, Finnish Judo Association, and Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation. While individual sports are responsible for developing their own activities and success plans, the National Olympic Training Center Helsinki provides a world-class training environment that empowers athletes, coaches, and specialists to achieve success and a good everyday life.

Coaching is the Key

At the National Olympic Training Center Helsinki, coaching is the responsibility of professional coaches from different sports, selected in cooperation with sport federations and the Olympic Committee. The head coaches lead multidisciplinary coaching teams, including a strength and conditioning coach, physiotherapist, mental performance coach, nutrition expert, and doctor. Together, top coaches from different disciplines and specialists from various fields make the National Olympic Training Center Helsinki an international centre of excellence in elite sport.
