Metropolitan Sports Academy Urhea is a collaborative network that enables talented, professional, and elite athletes to pursue their passion for sports while building a successful educational path and working career.
Network is the key of our success
We offer comprehensive support to athletes, including help with daily training, guidance in building a dual career, and creating a training environment where specialists play an integral role in the everyday lives of athletes and coaches.
Our network is located in the Helsinki Metropolitan area and consists of over 50 secondary schools, 11 upper secondary schools, seven universities, and 26 sports federations. We work closely with the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa, as well as a number of other stakeholders in sports, to ensure that our athletes have access to the resources they need to succeed.

According to the beginning of 2025 census, the Urhea network boasted a total of 7393 athletes
- 133 member athletes supported by the Finnish Olympic or Paralympic Committee
- 1125 member athletes on the junior or senior national team level
- 2297 member athletes on the challenger level
- 3800 athlete students on upper secondary level in our member schools.
